Give every dollar a job.
My Khaliss is a zero-based envelope budget for Canadians. Decide where your money goes before the month spends it for you — then watch each envelope against what your bank actually shows.
You’re on the list. We’ll write once, when it opens.

Connects to the accounts you already have
Account connections are handled by Flinks, a Montréal open-banking provider backed by National Bank of Canada, and are available on Plus and Pro. Institution names are shown for reference only and do not imply a partnership or endorsement.
Envelopes
Budget the money you have, not the money you expect
Every dollar that lands in your account gets assigned to an envelope — rent, groceries, transit, the trip in March. When an envelope is empty, it is empty. That single rule is what turns a budget from a guess into a decision.
- Zero-based: allocate down to a balance of $0.00, so nothing sits unnamed
- Move money between envelopes mid-month without breaking the plan
- Roll a leftover forward, or sweep it into a goal
- Recurring bills get their own envelopes and fill themselves each period
Bank import
Your transactions arrive on their own
On Plus and Pro, connect your Canadian accounts through Flinks and transactions flow in — chequing, credit cards, savings, investment accounts. Match them to envelopes in seconds instead of retyping a month of receipts. CSV import is on every plan, including Free.
- Up to 3 banks on Plus, every bank you have on Pro; CSV import on every plan
- Chequing, credit card, savings and investment accounts
- Duplicate detection, so a re-sync never doubles your spending
- Reconcile against the balance your bank shows, not a running guess
AI assistant
Ask your budget a question in plain language
“How much did groceries cost me this winter?” “Can I afford $180 more for the car this month, and what gives?” The assistant reads your own envelopes and transactions and answers with your numbers. Every plan includes a monthly AI credit, so you always have some.
- Answers grounded in your envelopes and transactions, not generic advice
- Suggests where to pull from when an envelope runs short
- Works in English and in French
- Usage comes out of a monthly credit — no surprise bill
- On Pro, use your budget from Claude Desktop and other AI tools
Yes, but it costs you something. You have $188 left in Groceries and $87 in Transit with 11 days to go.
My suggestion: pull $120 from March trip (still on pace — 7 months left) and $60 from Groceries, which has run 22% under budget for three months straight.
Restaurants is already $42 over, so I’d leave that one alone.

Households
One budget, everyone who shares the bills
Two of you, three roommates, a family with kids old enough to spend — invite them all to the same household and you share the envelopes, not the arguments. Everyone sees the same balances at the same moment, so “we already spent that” stops being a conversation you have on a Tuesday night.
- Invite a partner, roommates or family to the same household
- Everyone sees the same envelopes and the same remaining balances
- Keep personal accounts personal — you choose what joins the household
- Each person keeps their own sign-in
Goals and net worth
Watch the number that actually matters
Goals are envelopes with a finish line: an emergency fund, a down payment, a plane ticket. Alongside them, net worth pulls together what you own and what you owe, so a good month is visible as more than a green balance.
- Fund a goal automatically each time you get paid
- See how many months remain at your current pace
- Net worth across accounts, in one figure
- Debt payoff counts as progress, because it is
On your phone
Fast enough to use at the till
The moment that decides a budget is the one in the aisle at IGA, not the one at your desk on Sunday. My Khaliss runs in your phone’s browser, installs to your home screen, and opens on the envelope you need.
Cash is the money most budgeting apps lose. An app that only syncs with your bank cannot see the $60 you took out at the ATM, so the budget quietly drifts away from what is in your wallet. My Khaliss has a Cash account for exactly that: move the withdrawal into it, give it envelopes like any other money, and log what you spend as you spend it.
- Install to your home screen — no app store, no download
- Check a balance in a couple of seconds
- Log a cash expense before you forget it
- Same account, same data, on every device
How it works
Three steps, then a habit
Most people are budgeting properly within one pay period.
Bring in your accounts
Import a CSV on any plan, or connect your Canadian bank and credit cards through Flinks on Plus and Pro. Your transactions and balances land in My Khaliss.
Give the money a job
Split what you have across envelopes until nothing is left unassigned. Rent, groceries, transit, savings, the fun one.
Adjust as the month goes
Overspent on restaurants? Move it from somewhere else and keep going. A budget that bends is a budget you keep.
Security and privacy
How your information is handled, in plain words
Québec’s Law 25 gives you specific rights over your personal information. Here is how My Khaliss handles yours.
Your data, locked down
Every connection to My Khaliss is encrypted with TLS, and our database and backups are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Your bank connection tokens get an extra layer: they’re encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key stored separately from the database. Passwords and API keys are hashed, so even we can’t read them, and sign-in tokens and two-factor secrets are encrypted. We never see or store your card number; payments are handled by Stripe.
Your banking credentials never reach us
Bank connections run through Flinks, a Montréal open-banking provider backed by National Bank of Canada. You authenticate with your own institution inside the Flinks flow. My Khaliss receives account balances and transactions — not your online banking password.
You can take your data out
Law 25 gives you the right to portability: to receive the personal information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format. You don’t have to ask. Settings → Data exports everything as a ZIP of CSV files, and Settings → Danger zone deletes your account.
No advertising, no data sale
My Khaliss is paid for by its subscriptions. Your transactions are not sold, rented, or used to target advertising. That is the whole reason there is a price list on this page.
Hosted in the United States
My Khaliss is hosted in the United States, on Vercel with a Neon database. The privacy policy explains what is stored there and the rights Law 25 gives you.

The privacy policy names the person in charge of protecting your personal information, how to reach them, and every right Law 25 gives you. For anything else, write to us.

FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Which banks can I connect, and on which plan?
Bank connections are a Plus and Pro feature: up to 3 banks on Plus, as many as you have on Pro. A bank is one login, which usually covers your chequing, savings and credit card together. Connections run through Flinks, a Montréal open-banking provider backed by National Bank of Canada, which covers the major Canadian banks and credit unions along with several online-only institutions. On the Free plan you import a CSV instead, which works with every institution.
Do you see my online banking password?
No. You authenticate with your own institution inside the Flinks flow. My Khaliss receives account and transaction data from Flinks; your banking credentials are not sent to us and we do not store them.
What is the AI credit, and what happens when it runs out?
Assistant usage draws on a credit that refills every month: $0.50 on Free, $3.00 on Plus, $8.00 on Pro, plus a one-time $0.50 bonus when you sign up. When the credit is spent, the assistant pauses until the next month or until you move up a plan. The budget itself never stops working, and you are never billed for overage you did not choose.
Is the free plan a trial?
No. Free is a plan, not a countdown. Unlimited envelopes, unlimited transactions, CSV import and export, goals and net worth, in both languages, for $0. Plus and Pro add bank connections, the shared household and more assistant credit. New accounts start with a month of Plus, free, no card. At the end of it you’re on Free. Everything keeps working except bank syncing. Your linked accounts and their history stay; they stop updating until you upgrade.
How many people can share a household?
As many as live with the budget. Invite a partner, roommates, or family — everyone sees the same envelopes and the same remaining balances, each with their own sign-in. You decide which accounts join the household and which stay personal. Households are available on Plus and Pro.
Is My Khaliss available in French?
Yes — the whole app, written by people who speak Québec French, not run through a translation engine. You can switch language at any time, and the assistant answers in the language you write to it in.
Where is my data hosted?
In the United States. My Khaliss runs on Vercel with a Neon Postgres database in Northern Virginia. Your online banking password never reaches us — bank connections go through Flinks — and your data is never sold or used for advertising. The privacy policy covers where your information goes and the rights Law 25 gives you.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?
Cancel from your account settings at any time; you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have paid for, then move to Free. Both of your Law 25 rights are self-serve: Settings → Data exports everything as a ZIP of CSV files, and Settings → Danger zone deletes your account outright.
